Spanish Steps	The Aspirations of Memory

The Aspirations of Memory is a collection of photographs in warm, sepia-based tones of black-and-white, made during travels in Spain, Italy, France, the Philippines, Toronto, and the United States. The title phrase signals the essence of the photographic art: to craft a visible repertoire of occurrences, textures, and light-effects, which serve to remind us of the places, people and sensations we have known on our journey through this world.

Beyond simply reaching for the photographic essence, each of the images in this collection proposes a potential story for the viewer’s reflection, by crystallizing a given moment in time which contained some metaphoric value in its composition.
