I THINK A HEAVY DUTY AIR BAG LIKE PLUMBERS USE TO PLUG SEWER LINES BUILT FOR HIGH PRESSURE, MADE A SIZE WHICH WOULD FIT INTO THE WELL PIPE WITH OUT TO MUCH RESTRICTION WHILE BEING INSERTED. INSERT THE BAG DOWN THE WELL PIPE AS FAR AS POSSIBLE THEN QUICKLY INFLATING THE BAG WITH HIGH PRESSURE WATER OR AIR SHUTING OFF THE FLOW THEN PUMP THE CONCRETE ON TOP OF THE BAG AFTER THE FLOW STOPS PERMANENTLY PLUGGING THE WELL.

UPDATE, 4 June 2010, 15:25 EDT: BP has successfully placed a custom-built cap over the lower marine riser package, at the top of the well. Oil continues to visibly gush from the site, though a BP spokesman tells CNN the oil still being released is coming through 4 vents built into the cap, which will be closed one by one as pressure testing moves forward, leaving, if all goes well, only a small amount of oil leaking from under the likely-not-perfectly-sealed cap.

After the top-kill effort failed, BP began to focus on what it’s calling the Lower Marine Riser Package Cap plan, an effort that by 21:20 EDT today had seen robotic submarines successfully cut two pipes, reportedly allowing more volume of crude oil to pour from the well, in hopes engineers will be able to lower a custom-made “cap” over the top of the well piping, to close the well and allow BP to extract excess volume.

UPDATE: As of Thursday, 27 May 2010, BP says it has successfully sealed the blown out Deepwater Horizon oil well, 5,000 feet below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico. According to the LA Times: "Reporting from Houma, La. — Engineers have at least temporarily stopped the flow of oil and gas into the Gulf of Mexico from a gushing BP well, the federal government's top oil-spill commander, U.S. Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, said Thursday morning. The "top kill" effort, launched Wednesday afternoon by industry and government engineers, had pumped enough drilling fluid to block oil and gas spewing from the well, Allen said. The pressure from the well was very low, he said, but persisting. The top kill effort is not complete, officials caution." If engineers are able to reduce the pressure to zero, meaning the oil is no longer pushing upward with enough force to leak out into the Gulf, they will pump cement into the well to permanently seal it. The success of the operation will remain in question for at least a few days, possibly longer.

Joseph, estoy esperando con mucho interés que salga un día este libro. Me parece que éste, como tus otros escritos para ‘Inútil diligencia’, me dice muchas cosas muy intuitivas sobre cómo pienso yo los enigmas y los desafíos de todo aquello que llamamos amor. Claro que guardamos semillas dentro de nosotros mismos que un día serán para compartir con alguien que habrá hecho semejante preparación, y sea casualidad o destino, ese encuentro generará impulsos hermosos y comprensión inesperada. O por lo menos, eso esperamos… gracias por esto.
